Premier League football

Football fans can look forward to a busy schedule in the English top flight this week. In-form Arsenal take on Newcastle in the big Monday night game and the Gunners should be full of confidence after vanquishing Man Utd and Rennes in their last two games. Newcastle are down in 14th and still battling for points, but they are unlikely to get much joy here. Ladbrokes has 4/5 on Arsenal and under 4.5 goals, which looks tempting. Watford are 8/11 to beat Fulham at home on Tuesday night, and that looks great, as the Cottagers have lost eight games in a row. Wolves host Man Utd in the other and game and they are 3/1 to pull off an upset.

Chelsea are heavy favourites to beat Brighton on Wednesday, and Man City are best priced at just 1/12 to beat Cardiff. You can find a better price on Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace in their first game at the new stadium and that looks like a good one for any accumulators. Spurs will want to put on a good show in front of their fans, so Tottenham -1 Asian handicap could be a good option. Liverpool should swat Southampton aside at St Mary’s in the Friday night game, and then there are three matches on Saturday. Leicester to win away at Huddersfield at 13/16 looks great. Arsenal are 6/5 to beat Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

European football

It is a similar situation on the continent, with games in Italy taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. AC Milan will bid to end a run of two straight defeats when they host Udinese on Tuesday and they should be able to pull it off. Juventus are 11/17 to win away at 13th placed Cagliari, and that looks like an amazing set of odds. Napoli, Inter and Lazio all look well priced for away wins on Wednesday and Atalanta v Chievo could be a goal fest on Thursday.

Atletico Madrid host Girona in La Liga on Tuesday night and Ladbrokes and Coral have an attractive 19/20 on a home win to nil. Barcelona are 5/8 to win away at Villarreal and that looks like it will go on many punters’ accas. Real Madrid will aim for a third straight win under Zinedine Zidane as they take on Valencia at the Mestalla, and you can find even money on that. Sevilla should be able to beat Alaves on Thursday.

Grand National

The biggest race of the year takes place at Aintree on Saturday as the leading long-distance chasers battle it out for Grand National glory. This epic race will draw 600 million viewers from across the world. It takes place over more than 4 miles and requires the horses to jump 30 fences at the iconic course, with many failing to finish. Tiger Roll is bidding to become the first runner since the legendary Red Rum in 1974 to win back-to-back Grand Nationals. He successfully defended the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March and now he is gunning for glory once again. You can find 4/1 at Betfred and Betfair on him winning the race, but he faces stern competition and each-way value abounds.

FA Cup semi-finals

Brighton face mission impossible when they take on a rampant Man City side at Wembley on Saturday. The Premiership champions have already won the Carabao Cup and they remain on course for a sensational quadruple, as they are favourites to win the Premier League and Champions League. If they beat Brighton at the weekend, they will take on either Watford or Wolves in the big final. Those two place on Sunday and it should be an entertaining game, as both have attacked well and defended poorly of late. William Hill has 17/20 on both teams to score and that looks attractive.
